Cannot login, redirect loop

Hi,

Windows 2008 Nuxeo 5.6

This happen suddenly after I did a Windows Update and restarted the server. I cannot login to Nuxeo using the correct ID and password. If I use a wrong password, it still will detect and display a wrong password message. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Nuxeo with auto configure postgresql database option. Error message below are displayed.

Could anyone pls advice and help ASAP? This is very urgent and happen in production server. Thank you.

==========

Google Chrome:

This webpage has a redirect loop The webpage at http://localhost:8080/nuxeo/nxstartup.faces?conversationId=0NXMAIN41 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

Firefox:

The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

new info: I think I am using the embeded database called H2/Derby. Maybe that is the reason why I cannot see any postgresql services running. Can anyone pls help me solve my problem? I also did restore all nuxeo folders and system state restores from daily backups, but still having problem. Thank you in advance.

your advice is appreciated. Please help. Thank you.

I have done more testing and suspect that my H2 folder database is corrupted. I reinstall a fresh nuxeo, then replace the following folders from old backup:

 C:\\ProgramData\\Nuxeo\\data\\binaries
 C:\\ProgramData\\Nuxeo\\data\\derby

I still can login but of course cannot see the previous workspaces.

then I also copy this folder:

C:\\ProgramData\\Nuxeo\\data\\h2

I get the redirect loop error after copying this folder.

I try to recover the H2 database using this recovery tool, but I am not sure how to use it as I cannot see any result following the guide I found here:

http://www.h2database.com/html/advanced.html#using_recover_tool
http://evolution.voxeo.com/wiki/kb:voH2Recovery
http://infocenter.pentaho.com/help/index.jsp?topic=%2Fpdi_admin_guide%2Ftask_h2_db_recovery_tool.html

Anyone can guide me? TQ

Hi,

We are getting a similar problem where users are not able to login. They are presented with the Login screen however when they login they get an error message saying: “This web page has a redirect loop”.

We are running Nuxeo 6.0 on Linux with Java 1.7.0_06-b24 and 4GB heap size with an Oracle 11g database.

Restarting the server seems to work for about a week but now it is happening multiple times a day.

thanks Peter

Hello, this is just a workaround but if you want to login maybe you can follow this part of the documentation to define a virtualUser and access the UI http://doc.nuxeo.com/display/NXDOC/User+Management

I experimented this kind of behavior when testing and I never figured out exactly what was going on.

Hi,

Server logs would help. This might be related to the postgresql install, see http://answers.nuxeo.com/questions/1434/fresh-install-leads-to-error-310-neterr_too_many_redirects-in-chrome

Hi, Thank you for your reply and advice, appreciate it very much. I did read that same article before, however I am not sure if I am using postgresql. I did check the box to auto configure postgresql but I cannot find it in Service, C: drive folder or Task Manager. How can I check if postgresql is installed properly? I have read some guide from Internet but I think they are too complicated with coding. Is there a GUI way to check? Thank you.

Can you :

  • remove all files in log
  • start your server
  • connect to your Nuxeo
  • send us just the server.log file (wihtout stopping the server)

There are too much logs here.
